Labor & Delivery Christmas parties are always full of entertainment! This year I was even brave enough to get up and sing a song! Probably not the best idea being as toned deaf as I am, but still fun! I even dressed up as Buddy the Elf, costume courtesy of "Steamy Stevey", aka Dr Berry! Dr's Jacob, Rees, and Broberg of Provo OB put on an amazing performance singing their own version of "I'll be home for Christmas". I would have to say that was the highlight of the night even with all the amazing talent that we have on Labor & Delivery!

Some nights after the girls get out of the tub they let me roudbrush their hair! This was Saturday night, and I wanted their hair to look cute for church! Avery's hair is so thick after her burn, her graft surgery, and the Dr's shaving it in order to obtain the graft with the least amount of trauma to her, and to also prevent more than just the burn site scar! Rylee's hair is so thin, and so fine! I can't imagine where she got that from? hmmm mom! Here are a few pictures of our fun hair make-over night!

Avery's 7th Birthday!

Avery turned 7 years old on December 5th! She loves it when it's her birthday! This year we did kind of a low key birthday with just the family, and 2 of her good friends Braylee, and Cashlynn! She picked out her Hannah Montana cake! When it was time to eat it she had to have the piece where the guitar was! Just because it was her birthday I let her have the guitar piece!

After being in our house for almost 5 years it was time to give the girls room a makeover. And since Jayden has graduated to not having to share a room any more, it was time to put add a little for Rylee since in the beginning the room was Jaydens and Averys. I am so glad how it turned out! I almost don't want them going in there! Now all I need to do is get them new bedding the pastels don't quite go with the new colors! So here are some before and after pictures. And I designed and decorated all by my self, with of course the help of Randen making sure that I hung everything level!

This year Avery dressed up as a dead prom queen, Rylee was a cute pink Witch, Jayden wore her soccer uniform as she does pretty much every day of her life, and Tyler handed out the candy to the trick or treaters! Avery was in character all night acting the part of being dead, and Rylee was so cute running from house to house getting candy. We were lucky to get one picture with Jayden because she is getting too cool to trick or treat with her familyshe would rather hang out with her friends, and Tyler is way past the picture stage or even getting dressed up a little bit for that matter! Avery learned some of the dance from the Michael Jackson video Thriller, and would perform that from time to time! She is quite the little dancer! What a fun year!

Halloween party at Grandma Barneys

This year we had a fun Halloween party at my Grandma Barneys house. All the grandmas went to a lot of work to make sure that the grandkids had fun. They painted, and decorated pumpkins. Had Halloween cupcakes in Spider decorated glasses, and of course they all got a spider ring. After all the fun they all got their own little treat bags! The party started at 3 pm, and I had to work that night, so just left from grandmas to work. Randen told me that he was not going to be too much longer, he was tired, had been out in the cold all morning at Jaydens soccer game, and I got a phone call around midnight saying he was just leaving Grandmas house. He said they had a lot of fun, I was of course expecting the whining of thanks for leaving me with all the kids at your family party, but the complete opposite. Poor little Rylee crashed on the floor, and instead of leaving her alone the adults including her dad sprayed her with silly string, decorated her with spieders, worms, and all sorts of disgusting things. She did not even move he said, she was that tired! He took some pictures of her on his phone, and when I got home the next morning from work I showed her them, and she said who is that? When I told her it was her she looked at me and said, "who would do that to me?" I pointed to her dad, and she just started to laugh, and of course kept wanting to see the pictures over and over again!

Scottie and Andraya

My little brother Scottie and my new sister-in-law got married! It was very special to Avery because she was able to be the flower girl! They had their wedding in the Price Utah Airport hanger. A first for me to be at a wedding in an airport hanger, but very beautiful! Andraya's dad, is a pilot, and my Grandpa Jim is a retired pilot, so after the wedding, and reception they were able to take off in a one in a kind send off's! Andraya's dad and my Grandpa flew them to the Provo Airport where Scottie had dropped their car off, and then from their they stayed in Park City for the weekend!

We all rode the log ride, but Amberlie and I tried talking our kids, including the biggest kids of them all our husbands to not ride the Rattle Snake Rapids! Did they listen to us? You will be able to tell by the pictures, and after the little ones were a pretty cold, but they all had fun!

Now you have to do the train ride when you go to Lagoon. It is a must! Even though the older kids don't find it quite as fun, the little ones love it, and for me it is a chance to finally sit!

Frightmares!

This year we went to Frighmares at Lagoon with Amberlie, Chevy and their kids. We had such a good time. I love how my kids have no fear, and are getting taller each year, so we can go from ride to ride. The only bummer was that Rylee was still just a little too short to ride some of the rides, and she didn't like that because she was ready to ride them! And the dancers are the best. I could sit and watch them all day, but of course the kids won't have that!

Michael and Tia's Wedding

My little brother Michael and his fiance got married September 18th in the Logan Temple. We were in California when they went through the temple, and had their ceremony in Tremonton, where Tia is from, but headed down to my dads house for their reception in Castle Dale the following Saturday! My Grandpa Jim, and Grandma Annie from California were up, and staying at my dads house, and it was nice to spend some time with them. Their reception was so beautiful, and we had such a great time getting to know Tia's family after the reception for a family BBQ, and a dance off! If I only had the pictures for that, man that Tia can move! And the kids had so much fun making smores, although they didn't stay clean for too long! We even got grandma Dana up and shaking it! Congratulations, we love you both!

I can't believe that our baby is 4 years old! She is getting so big, but still our baby! We celebrated her day with family enjoying cake and ice cream, and the week before we were in California, so she got some extra little treats on the trip! She got more big girls panties, and her first pair of roller skates with knee, elbow pads and helmet. We love you baby girl!

After long days at the beach we would head up to our hotel, and swim and soak in the hot tub. You would think that we would have had enough of the sun, and water being at the beach all day, but not the case. We would hang out in the hot tub, and the kids would swim until we were kicked out every night!

This year Genny was able to come down to Carlsbad with us. Trent took care of Annalynn for the week so she could have a little R&R! Her and Aunt Judy had a good time bunking up, riding together so tightly on the way down, and taking care of Tyler rubbing him down with Aloe Vera and giving him his nightly dose of Tylenol PM. His first time of using a sleep aid!

Cute family picture of the Fife family! Jayden had a bet with Nate about sharks in the ocean, so around 10 pm one night she went down to the gift shop to buy Nate some goggles, and told him that he had to go out in the ocean and look for sharks. She bought purple, such a great color for Nate, and she made him put them at night to try them on for size! Well Nate proved her wrong and assured her that there were no sharks out where we were boogie boarding. Lacy and Coby also caught a nice ride on the tube, what a great shot!

Carlsbad

Nate and Lacy came down this year with Coby and Cassidy. Tyler and Coby hit the waves pretty good. And Cassidy had so much fun with the girls, and even getting burried by her brother and Tyler. I bought some beach toys and a shovel for the little kids, but as you can see the 2 older boys put them to better use!

Carlsbad at the Beach

For the last 20 years my family has been going down to Carlsbad, California. We usually end up taking up the whole hotel and the most part of the beach that we camp out at! This year we didn't do any fun attraction sites like Disneyland, or Sea World, we just hung out at the beach, soaked up the sun, played in the ocean, and got sand in places that it shouldn't have been (Lacy you know what I am talking about)!!! We made some cool sand sculptures, the guys boogie boarded with dolphins, and I don't think I have ever used so much sunscreen in my life. After my 2 older kids decided that after the first day of getting fried, that mom is right, and they should wear sunscreen for a reason, not just because I am mean, and have nothing else to say or do!

Sand Dunes

We headed out to the Sand Dunes this summer, and although we don't have any ATV's Our good friends Amberlie and Chevy let us take advantage of theirs. Talk about friends with benefits! I went with Chevy on his new sand car that he built this year, and had a blast. I couldn't move the next day but it was so much fun, and so beautiful on the back of Sand Mountain. I also took their Rhino with Avery, Rylee, Braylee and Bostyn for a fun little ride. We stopped and played in the sand, and watched some crazy riders. We were gone for a little while, and I gave my poor friend Amberlie a heart attack. She thought I had wrecked the Rhino, and was thinking of the worst possible scenerios. The only thing bad that happened was that Avery picked her nose, and got a bloody nose! So sorry again Am for scaring the crap out of you, but thanks for a great day!

After the older kids started school, 7-Peaks was still open for a few more days. Rylee and I decided to take this opportunity for a little one on one time! It was great. There were no lines, we ran from ride to ride, and of course after we were done she was ready for a nap which always good for the both of us! What a sweet baby girl, and she is 4!

First Day of School '09

I can't believe that the time has already come for school to start. This summer went by way too fast! Tyler is going into 9th grade, he is a Freshman! Holy cow!!! He is so stinkin cute, and such a good kid that I am not as scared as I thought I would be for his first year of high school. Jayden is in her last year of elementary at Sage Creek and then she will be off to Jr High! She is in the 6th grade, and is still Jayden. She is starting to get more into fashion, but only on the days that her and the boys aren't playing sports at recess! Avery is in 1st grade. Her first year of eating school food, and being there all day! She is so excited, but we are not looking too forward to all the homework! Rylee is starting her first year of pre-school at the day care that she goes to, although we call it school! She loves her teacher Amy, and all of her friends that she gets to play with. So this is the first year where I have all 4 kids gone for a few days. I would love to say that I am doing something productive like cleaning or doing something fun, but usually 9 times out of 10 I am working, or have worked the night before, so I am sleeping, but it is very peaceful sleep, and that makes all the difference in the world!

Summer Fun!!!

This summer we spent most of our time as a family at 7-peaks. We bought season passes, and that literally became our 2nd home (besides the baseball fields!). We went with my best friend Amberlie, her husband Chevy, and their 2 kids Braylee and Bostyn. Of course Jayden would run into her friends and go off and do her own thing, but what a great year, and I am already missing the weather, and the tan!

Sprinkler system for Grandpa Barney

My sweet grandpa Barney passed away this August, and before his passing he had us grandkids put in a sprinkling system. Randen, Trent, Danny, and I (being the only girl) were able to get Grandpas sprinkler system system in just before he passed away. He knew for sometime that his cancer was terminal and that he would soon be ending this journey and embarking on another one, but before he did he wanted to make sure that Grandma was taken care of in as many ways as he knew how to. One of them was for her not to have to drag the hose all over the yard and in the flower beds, after he passed on. Trent worked very hard on it for a few days, and as we saw Grandpa getting sicker almost a week before his passing we made a promise to him one day that we would have the sprinkler system in and working, so that he could see it up, and running to help put his mind at ease! We got it working around 7 pm. Randen and Danny carried him out on a chair, as we turned the sprinkler system system on, his face lit up brighter than anything I have ever seen before!

Grandpa Barney

My sweet Grandpa Barney passed away on August 3rd after a long courageous battle with cancer. We were so lucky as an entire family to get to spend some good quality time with him before his passing. I knowGrandpa that you are one of the greatest men that I ever got to know, and I am so lucky that I was able to call you Grandpa and my kids were able to call you Great-Grandpa! We love you and miss you!

Jayden is still keeping us busy with her soccer! This summer she had 3 soccer tournaments, and all 3 weeks in a row. Their team did amazing, in one of the tournaments they swept the entire tournament letting no team score on them! Way to go Peanut and Utah FC!

This year we celebrated the 24h of July at our good friends Amberlie and Chevy's house. After the 4th being done at our house we decided to do it at another location to avoid the cops! This year there were no injuries. Unlike last year when Randen got shot by Chevy with a roman candle and it got wedged in between his sandle and burned his foot pretty bad. So this year Randen and Chevy had a good war with each a 200 shot roman candle, and then after that the rest of us all got into the action with the regulare roman candles, even Amberlie and I had a good attack on the men! We make a great team. We had a great time as you can see in the photos!

Grandma Nelsons 90th Birthday

Grandma Nelson turned 90 this year on July 22nd! She is such an amazing person, and she has more energy than me! They had an open house for her, and it was nice to see all the family and friends that came out to support Grandma. She even got a letter from the Senator of Utah for turning 90. Way to go Grandma!

Tyler is in his last year of Pony league which means no more city league for him after this season. Jayden is playing her first year of Filly. And Avery is playing T-ball. I think that more than the kids I love this time of year more than they do. They all do so well, and I love going to the games and cheering them on, and seeing how well they play! When we don't have games on weeknights we find ourselves not knowing what to do! Our family has a hard time relaxing we love to be going a million miles an hour! And the season is not over, so good luck Tyler, Jayden and Avery you guys are the best, and not only at ball, but as kids as well!

We started off the day going to the parade, and then meeting up with some friends at the carnival. the kids rode on some rides, played some games, and of course we had to get the delicious scones! After we ate we went and donated some money to the special olympics, by dunking a cop! I think Randen and Tyler enjoyed it a little too much! And to end the night went to the fireworks with friends and my cousin Danny and his kids!

Grandpa and Grandma Chidister

Most of you know that Randens grandpa Chidister was in a motorcycle accident years ago, which led to the amputation of one of his legs. Well recently grandpa fell and broke his pelvis. For a few weeks the family was trying to help grandpa get around until his pelvis healed, but he became so weak that he had to be admitted into the hospital. Upon his admission they found other things that were wrong with him. He received 4 units of blood, and found out he had a bleeding ulcer. After spending about a week in the hospital he was sent to Orem Nursing and Rehab on Friday. Grandma Chidister, my mother-in-law Vickie, and Ryan went to go and visit grandpa, and while gradma was there she became very weak, passed out and was out of it for a good 15 minutes. They rushed her to the ER, and admitted her into the hospital where they have done multiple tests. She has had quite a few mini strokes and her labs were all messed up, high cholesterol, and a few other things. So lets just say that these past few weeks and days have been very busy and stressful for Randed and his family. Grandma is back to her self thinking that there is nothing wrong with her, and grandpa is continuing to get rehab at the care facility. Lets all hope that they will be on the uphill of things, and will both be home soon!

Jaydens Ice Breaker Soccer Tournament

The title explains it all! We are down in St George for another soccer tournament for Jayden. You would think that being down in St George that it would be a place to come and see some sunshine, but not quite our luck! Jayden and I came down just the 2 of us, a little mother daughter get away! Her friend Sam rode down with us, but her mom met us down here later. We were able to miss the storm on the way down, thank goodness. The night before the roads were cloased due to a pile up on the freeway, so I pray we are as lucky on the ride home as we were on the ride down! I had to go to the store and buy laundry detergent because poor Jayden is out playing in the rain and snow. I think it is worse for the parents than the players, they are having a blast and love getting muddy and sliding around, So I guess I shouldn't complain! I am so thankful for such a good husband to stay home with the rest of the kids, so Jayden and I can spend a little one on one time! And it is so amazing to me to realize how much you love your spouse and your children when you are away from them! Even Jayden said that she really misses her brother and sisters! I had to have her repeat herself, I never thought I would hear those words come out of her mouth! So in the meantime wish all the HC Storm girls luck on winning and having fun, and for their parents to get them home safely. I miss you Randen, Tyler, Avery and Rylee and can't wait to see you soon, love mom!

Michaels homecoming

Today is Sunday the 21st of December we are down at grandpa Scotts and grandma Danas house in Castle Dale for Michaels homecoming from his mission. He went to North Carolina, and came home last Sunday. I can not believe how much he has grown up. We are all getting ready to go and read a christmas story by grandpa Scott and then we will start down the canyon, so I can go to work tonight. There are only 4 more days until Christmas and I think we are almost ready! We discovered today that Tyler needs some new church pants he has grown so much. All of the kids are so excited and I would have to say I am too! We all wish all of you a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!

Grandpa Barneys 80th birthday

For those of you that know me well, one of the most important men in my life is my grandpa Barney. He just turned 80 on the 9th! He is such an amazing man, and I could not be more proud to call him "my" grandpa! He is not feeling so good. He has been told by many Dr's that he has a bad back and that he must slow down, and not do so much. Telling that to him has been the hardest thing that he has had to go through. I have never met anyone who works as hard as him, and although there are days that I wish that someone would tell me to slow down and not do so much. I realize how blessed I am to have my health! I am so thankful for my grandpa in so many ways, and the most important is showing me what to look for in a man. I have to say that I have the greatest husband in the world, and I am so glad for Randen in my life to be my husband and for what a wonderful father he is to my 4 beautiful children! Did I just say "beautiful"? I know I complain how crazy my kids and life are, but I am really thankful for them and all that they bring to my life! Happy Birthday Grandpa, heres to turning 80! Big Times Birthday

I can't believe that Avery is 6!!! For those of you that don't know us Avery is Big time! I also can't believe that is almost time for Christmas. I am not even close to ready! My house is ready, but the presents and Santa is not quite ready! I love this time of year, and I am so glad that it is snowed today and we were told that we might have a white Christmas! Jaydens soccer tournament in St George

Well we are just about to head to Jaydens 4th game in 2 days! she is 2-1, and she is doing great!
After her games we are heading home. Randen, myself, Jayden, Avery and their cousin Ady came down for a little R&R! We have had alot of fun swimming, site touring, rock climbing and of course watching Jayden play! My mom kept Rylee, so we are missing her terribaly, but we have been able to do more stuff that the older kids have enjoyed that we couldn't have done with Rylee. Well wish us luck for Jaydens last game and our travel home! We can't wait to see you Rylee and Tyler!

I guess I am jumping on the bag wagon with everyone else, and I am going to try this blog stuff out! I am here at work it is almost 2 in the morning, so if I might sound a litltle crazy consider the time! I can't believe that Thanksgiving is tomorrow, and that Christmas is now less than a month away. We are going to Randens moms house for Thanksgiving, and maybe stopping at the Barneys after for a minute to say hello to everyone before we head out to St. George for Jaydens soccer tournament. I am going to miss the day after Thanksgiving sales, but Randen says that it's great because I won't be spending money that we don't have! Little does he know that there are stores in St. George also! Well I will be leaving for now, my patient is about to deliver!
